Chantecler and his hens (and ducks)Cockerels, hens and ducks on our traditional slip colours: light yellow ochre, cream, ivory, sea green, dark blue, delphinium, terracotta. If you want something that looks rustic, this is rustic squared. Any bird can be made on any of our slip colours, and we can do special breeds. All tiles are 4"/100mm Individual decors on slip colours.
Use these as spot tiles with plain cream or coloured tiles or to co-ordinate with a mural.
How to Order these tiles
Slip colours blend well with ducks and hens decors. Cockerel Murals
Murals featuring big, bold cockerels and hens are our trademark. These may be on a cream or white background, with or without buttercups, daisies, or nettles. Sizes and designs may be varied to suit each client. All the tiles are our own 100mm.
Because we make the tiles here, we are able to be flexible with the design, colouring, and overall size.
One size doesn't fit all - we cut the tiles for this mural to fit the arched top.
Each mural is individualy designed to fit the space, and is signed and dated. Some have borders, some don't.
This splendid mural has a dark-coloured cock and hen and a "carpet-fringe" border.
"We are really pleased with the overall effect" wrote the client who commissioned this scheme flowing round the three sides of the AGA Range cooker.
Murals can be any size or shape. Here a compact square mural set in our cream tiles fits the space perfectly. Note the splendid dandelion in the corner.
One of our most popular designs.
Cock a Doodle Doo! Scraffitto muralsScraffitto means the technique of drawing by scratching a fine line, with a needle, through a soft layer. Because we make our tiles using a "clayslip" layer on terracotta, our tiles lend themselves to this venerable technique, which has to be done while the clay is still soft. In fact, all our murals and designs feature some of this drawing.
You do have to be able to draw with confidence to do this - there is no margin for error. A variety of marks and lines, some strong, some wisper-thin, can be produced using different tools, including sticks and feathers.
