Clayslip Colours

These are our traditional clayslip colours, unique to us. Any of our decorated tiles can be made on any of these colours, and any of these colours can coordinate with our decorated tiles.

Row 1: Darkest blue, Midblue, Delphinium, Azure, Lagoon.
Row 2: Spruce green, Flanders blue, Duck egg bright, Duck pond light, Lime.
Row 3: Autumn red, Warm earth, Duck egg light, Duck pond bright, Primrose.
Row 4: Bright ochre, Light ochre, Maize, Cream, Ivory.

A mix of delphinium, Flanders Blue and cream with daisy decors.

Glaze Colours

Glowing colours high-fired and suitable for indoor and outdoor use. The special clay we use gives a distinctive character to these wonderful tiles. On 4"/100mm hand-made base. Also available as 2"/ 50mm and 3"/75mm size.

Ultramarine - Lemon Zest - Buttermilk - Buttercup - Ice white
Celtic Blue - Apple - Orange Zest - Light Red - Raspberry
Turquoise - Grassy Green - Honey - Rosehip - Aubergine
Cornflower - Lichen - Lagoon Green - Atlantic Blue - Mossy Green

Chantecler glaze colours in the garden

Our glaze colours are high-fired so they will be frost-proof. They are wonderful for bringing colour into otherwise drab outdoor spaces. These photographs show how an unattractive breeze-block retaining wall can be tranformed with tiles in soft colours which evoke the garden behind. As you can see, this is a work-in-progress. For outdoor purposes, a grey grout as used here can look better than white. The top of the wall is tiled also and finished with a rolled edge.
