Delft InspirationsThe traditional blue and white designs are our starting-point, not something we copy. Our corner designs can be made on cream or ivory background , or on the Delft white glaze if they are to match the Medieval birds. Medieval Flowers - 4" (100mm)Recently we discovered the wonderful design world of old manuscripts. These 6 stylized flower designs are all derived from medieval texts. We paint them in several shades of blue, with our Delft "Pops squiggle" corner. "Pops" was the nick-name given to the Flanders town of Poperinge in World War I, by the many allied soldiers who enjoyed there a brief respite from the trenches. Much later, Ann saw an old delft tile with an unusual corner design in an antique shop window., and noted it in her sketch book. Our Delft corner tiles are now one of our most popular designs. We make these designs on a cream or ivory slip background.

Delft Corner StylesOur own corner designs can be made on cream, ivory or on the tin white glaze. As these images show, all our tiles craze to some degree. This is part of their charm and does not affect durability.
